My early sporting life consisted mainly of netball, volleyball, athletics, and surf lifesaving; many to a representative level. Although to be honest, I have managed to fit A LOT of sport into my 24 years, and we could be here a while if I listed them all.

I am also fortunate to have a fit and outgoing family, which is how I was introduced to mountain biking and the amazing local tracks and trails of the Bay of Plenty.

My introduction to triathlon and it's many disciplines, was far more recent. A couple of years ago I grew tired of the politics which can creep into team sports and needed a change. I decided to take a year off netball and began running, cycling, and swimming. I found it to be a great way to stay fit, push myself, and take my mind of the stresses of studying.

It was whilst swimming that I was approached by the coach of a local Triathlon Squad. It made sense to put my new found disciplines to good use, and I was super keen for a new challenge; so I joined.

My love of the sport has flourished from there, and I have become particularly fond of the off-road variety of triathlon and duathlon.

This blog is to help keep those who are interested informed; to share the ups and downs of juggling training, racing, and study; and hopefully to provide a giggle now and again!

If you are a like-minded athlete looking to compare notes or share advice; or a company who want a triathlete out there promoting their goods and services; drop me a line!
